Wedge Fitting

Inside a hundred yards, arrival angle is almost the whole conversation. A wedge that spins well but lands flat still runs past the number you were aiming at.

Bounce & Grind

Matched to How You Actually Enter the Turf

Bounce is the angle between the leading edge and the sole, and it decides whether a wedge glides through turf or digs into it. Players who take a shallow divot generally want less bounce; players with a steeper, more descending strike usually need more so the club doesn't stick on firm ground.

Grind — how the sole is shaped and relieved — adjusts how that bounce behaves when the face is opened for a flop or closed down for a low spinner. We watch your actual divot pattern on camera before recommending either one.

Loft Gapping

The Wedge Slot Most Bags Get Wrong

Even Loft Steps

Four to six degrees between wedges keeps full-swing distances usable. Wider gaps leave you guessing between a soft full swing and a hard partial one.

Matching the Set Above

Modern strong-lofted iron sets can leave a double-digit gap before the first wedge. We check this against your pitching wedge loft, not the number printed on the box.

Groove Condition

Worn grooves lose spin fastest from a wet or sandy lie. If your current wedges are due, we'll say so plainly — a fresh face often outperforms a full fitting on its own.

Short Game Capture

Full Swings and Partial Shots, Both Measured

We log full-swing wedge shots the same way as any other club, then move to a dedicated short-game station for pitches and chips from 10 to 40 yards, where touch and landing spot matter more than raw numbers. Both feed into the same build recommendation.
